Ministry of Justice: Prison Leavers Programme.

November 26, 2021

In 2021 Collaborate was commissioned by the Ministry of Justice to support a new initiative for the Prison Leavers Programme. A coalition of charities and organisations were working with the MoJ to support prison leavers to reintegrate into society after fulfilling their sentence by providing support services, education and programmes. Collaborate provided leadership and training workshops and seminars for these charities to develop their skills and abilities.

We hosted multiple workshops focusing on adaptive leadership and understanding the system at hand. This was through a mix of practical workshops and more traditional 1:1 coaching and information sharing. The highlight of the programme for me was the Community of Practices we established with members of the charities and organisations. Many never had a space to reflect and share struggles in their day-to-day work, and having a platform and safe space to discuss these in non-judgemental ways proved valuable to many of the cohort.

Overall, the programme was a success and my favourite during my time at Collaborate. The MoJ continue to support the charities in delivering their valuable work, and found a community where they can share, learn and reflect from one another that will continue to build and support their goals.
